- Bring a design to class that you think somehow represents your design aesthetic. Put this design in your design journal and write about why you chose it, what draws you to it, and what elements specifically you find appealing.

-Write a brief (1/2-1 page) response to the following:  Based on the readings, offer some definitions of design.  Which definition do you like the most?  Why?  According to the readings, what makes for “good” design?  Do you agree? Why or why not?

-Read H Ch 3 (pp 24-36) and Ch 4 (37-54)

- choose object you think you want to use for project 2 and bring idea to class

- Write an informal response (1 pg) that relates one idea from the Heskett reading to the object you are thinking of using for Project 2--in other words, choose a sentence or a concept from Heskett and talk about how you see this idea/concept manifested and/or relating to your object. I'm looking to see that you can relate ideas from the readings into your thinking about everyday objects.
