**Grade Curve:**

Letter grades will be assigned only at the end of the course, but you can keep track of your grade by applying the following standard curve:

100-92 |
A |

91-90 |
A- |

89-87 |
B+ |

86-83 |
B |

82-80 |
B- |

79-77 |
C+ |

76-73 |
C |

72-70 |
C- |

69-68 |
D+ |

67-65 |
D |

below 65 |
F |

It is possible that a more lenient curve will be applied at the
end of the course if it seems advisable, but the curve will not be
made more demanding; so you may be assured that if you have an 83%
average for the course you will receive at least a B. Note, however,
that sometimes the distribution of grades is even enough so that no
curve needs to be applied. In the past there has been a very high
correlation between poor attendance and flunking. The daily quizzes
are the best measure of sustained learning in this class. **Remember
that you can fail or miss no more than 20 of these quizzes and still
pass the course, no matter what your grades on other assignments may
be.**
