Model of Wolf House

Jack and Charmian London built their dream home, called Wolf House, about a mile from the farmhouse where they were living. Constructed of native materials such as wood and stone from the ranch, it was to be 15,000 square feet in size with 26 rooms and 9 fireplaces. (More information is available at the Jack London State Park site.

After three years of construction, the house was nearly ready for occupancy in August 1913 when it burned to the ground. The ruins are still there (more pictures will be posted at some future date). London vowed to rebuild but never did.

This model of Wolf House is now in London's study at the ranch.
