Cougar Can-jo. Plays like a dulcimer.

This is the Cougar Can-jo. It was created and donated to the WSU Creamery by Dennis Skelton. Dennis has a son and daughter-in-law who live in Pullman and they sent him a can of cheese for Christmas.

Dennis has a hobby of building dulcimers, and was intrigued by the can that the cheese arrived in.

He used the empty cheese can, attached a fretted neck and strings, and viola!  A "can-jo" was born!  He found that the sound is better if he attaches a small tomato can lid to the inside of the cheese can.
