The Short Run Model (48 months) |

The windows version is a 532 KB Stella File. It
was constructed with Stella Ver 5.1.1 and tested on an IBM ThinkPad with
a 12" screen using Windows 95. The Winzip program was used to compress
the file to 155 KB. Unzip the file and open the model. The Idagon model
is much larger than the other models in the book, so you'll notice a longer
delay as the model (and the sketch) is loaded. Your opening screen should
appear as shown on page 383 of the book. Try a simulation with default values
for the weights and reservoir policies, and check your "score."
The score keeper should give you 144 points for the simulation.

The Long Run Model (480 months) |

The windows version of the long run model is a
544 KB Stella File. It was constructed with Stella Ver 5.1.1 and tested
on an IBM ThinkPad with a 12" screen using Windows 95. The interface
was designed to fit on the small screen by asking for print set up in the
landscape mode. The Winzip program was used to compress the file to 159
KB. Unzip the file and open the model. The opening screen will be similar
to the short run model. The addition will be a new button to take you to
controls on land development and efficiency of irrigation. The simulations
will run for 480 months rather than 48 months.
