PROJECT REQUEST
A University department may request implementation of an administrative
computing system/application or an improvement to an existing system/application.
Request Memorandum
The unit administrator submits a Computing Services Work Request
Summary in a memorandum to the Computing Priority Assessment Group (COMPASS).
Include the following in the memorandum:
- Project name,
- Requesting department and contact individual,
- Date of request,
- Description of the project or improvement,
- Value of completing the project,
- Consequences of not completing the project,
- Preliminary resource requirements (if known).
Routing
Give the memorandum to a member of COMPASS or route it to the
Information Technology Computing Office.
Action by COMPASS
After COMPASS investigates the request, reviews resource requirements,
and determines University priority for the project, COMPASS notifies the
unit administrator.
COMPASS GROUP
COMPASS meets each month to consider new work requests, review
the status of outstanding requests and current projects, and revise priorities
as needed.
COMPASS membership includes systems coordinators, departmental representatives,
and IT administrators. To learn the current membership of COMPASS, contact
