Justice: the goddess Themis, mother of Prometheus

In the novel Frankenstein, Mary Shelley narrates the events and outcomes of three trials: the trial of Justine; the trial as part of the De Lacy family Saga (part of the Monster’s story); and the trial of Victor Frankenstein. Each of the trials characterize problems within the particular justice system at work.

Select one of these three trials as your topic trial. Identify the main problem and subsidiary, embedded, or implicit aspects of the problem.

Situation: Puzzled by Mary Shelley's view of justice and teh legal system, you are asked to research cultural debates about the nature of justice and the role of the legal system in society. While doing research you run across an article titled: The article explains a particular view of justice. Which of these views, if any, does Mary Shelley espouse in Frankenstein?
