DOWNWINDBLUE,1998

In the part of the world where I live, you often hear the native people call themselves 'downwinders' because we live with a danger that is often brought to mind. The danger is invisible most of the time, because it's biological effects are very slow and often take generations to show up.

Although my attention was turned toward radiation detectors because of my awareness of that danger, I found some beauty in the phenomenon of ionizing radiation. Like atomic buckshot, it can blow molecules apart - changing all kinds of chemistry.
