Application Procedure
An application consists of four parts:
- A Cover Sheet that includes title of the proposal; name, address,
phone, fax and email address of the principal investigator; name of
affiliated institution, including Grants and Contracts Office contact; and a
250-word abstract.
- A Project Description, of maximum length 5 single-spaced/10 double-spaced
pages. The description should explain the theoretical basis for the
proposed research, provide a detailed description of methodology and planned
analyses, include a description of the available research facilities, and
identify all personnel who will assist with the project. A
researcher who is pursuing support for a health-oriented project must also
explain how the project can serve as the basis for a larger grant
application, and must identify some agencies and organizations to which the
larger application might be submitted.
- A one-page
detailed Budget.
- A Biographical Sketch, of maximum length 2 pages. The sketch must
include educational history, employment history, and 5 - 10 recent relevant
publications (the number of references will have no bearing on likelihood of
funding).
The application process is simple. First, download and complete the cover
sheet. Next, send an email with the subject "GRANT
APPLICATION" to socpsych@mail.wsu.edu
.
Attach the completed Cover Sheet, Project Description, Budget, and
Biographical Sketch to the email. The documents may be in .doc, .wpd, or
.rtf form.
Copies of the application materials will be
transmitted electronically to the external reviewers. The Foundation is
committed to minimizing the delay between application and a funding
decision. Thus, reviewers will be contacted immediately upon reception of
application materials, and applicants will be notified as soon as a decision is
reached on their applications.
