Vision
To create a culture in which celebrates and includes diverse perspectives—from race, gender, age, language and country of origin to educational background, sexual orientation, physical abilities and ideologies—as a central objective of the country’s most forward-thinking organizations and professionals, the WWAMI Medical Program is one of them.
Our Mission
The creation of a well-structured culture of inclusion by promoting and teaching multicultural issues to all students interested in learning how to be assertive at the personal and clinical levels, to approach diverse groups in the US and abroad with the appropriate skills and cultural sensitivity.
Objectives
Our central objective is to facilitate the identification, recruitment, retention, and professional development of individuals from underrepresented and/or disadvantaged backgrounds who are interested in pursuing M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degrees. In addition, we strive to provide information related to medical student preparation, the medical education pipeline, and financial aid opportunities available to interested students.
Our Philosophy: Diversity Works!
Diversity means many things to many people—but one thing is certain: creating a culture of inclusion that celebrates and includes diverse perspectives—from race, gender, age, language and country of origin to educational background, sexual orientation, physical abilities and ideologies—is a central objective of the country’s most forward-thinking organizations and professionals, the WSU/UI WWAMI Medical Program is one of them.
