CONSTRUCTIVISM
Vladimir Tatlin (1885-1953) and other Russian sculptors and architects called themselves Productivists, but they are known as Constructivists, creating "radical abstract geometric painting-reliefs and corner reliefs" from industrial materials (Dempsey 106). Tatlin, Gabo (1890-1977), Pevsner (1884-1962), Rodchenko (1891-1956), and Stepanova (1895-1958) "set out to explore the artistic qualities inherent in materials, such as form and colour, and to capture the spirit of the technological modern age" (Dempsey 106).
