Summary: Charley, a high-school horror geek, believes
his eccentric next-door neighbor is a blood-sucking fiend. He
enlists the help of horror star, Peter Vincent, to terminate the
vampire's lease on undead life. Will our teen hero and his faithful
sidekicks save the day?
Commentary:
Dialogue: Cheesy! This is obviously the scriptwriter's
first movie-making foray.
Vampires: Traditional or Not? An updated version of
Transylvania's
"hometown hero." All the trappings apply.
Vampires: Physical Appeal: The ultimate '80s vampire--suave,
sexy, and impeccably attired. How can we, mere mortal females,
resist? Gore Factor: Several rivulets of blood grace the
bare backs of the vampire's nubile victims. The producers could
only afford two graphic death scenes, or so it seems.
Scariness/Suspense: The campy humor drowns out any blood-pounding
scenes.
Target Audience: '80s, '80s, '80s! Anyone who still wears
Izod golf shirts with the collar up will love this.
