Project Exhibit Assignment

Assignment: At the end of the semester, each group will set up an exhibit that showcases their work from this class. To complete this assignment, your group must include a tri-fold project board, a project report, and a printed copy of your literary journal.

Tri-fold Project Board: The tri-fold project board is perhaps the most important part of the exhibit. This is your group's chance to showcase all of the work completed in this class. The project board takes us behind the scenes of your literary journal and presents to the public marketing materials, technical documents, and snap shots of your webpage and publication layouts. You should also consider incorporating bios for each editorial team member. Ultimately, there are no rules for what to include on the presentation board, but make sure it represents your best work from this class. You will also want to present your knowledge of fonts, layouts, and color schemes to ensure that your presenation board matches your journal's established platform.

Project Report: You will also showcase your work in a final report. In this report you will request funding from the Washington State Arts Commission. These types of reports are common in creative, academic, and cultural professions where projects are supported by endowments. Your goal is to write a professional report that convinces members of the commission to support the continuation of your project. This will help you negotiate labor and printing costs in the future. For more details of this report, see the Project Report Assignment.

Literary Journal: The final part of the exhibit is to include a copy of your printed literary journal. The marketing editor is responsible for the cover, the layout editor is responsible for formatting and printing the inside pages, and the copy editor is responsible for proofreading and consistancy. However, the entire team is responsible for putting the journal together. Your literary journal should represent the final product of the work presented on your presenation board and in your final report. For more information on the literary journal, see Literary Journal Assignment.

Due: We will set up our exhibit on Monday, December 8th.
