Website Assignment
Assignment: Use your
knowledge of typography, color theory, and layout (CARP)
principals to
create a website for your literary journal. Keep in mind that
you will include your use of basic design principals (color,
typography, contrast, repetition, alignment, proximity) in the final
report of your project at the end of the semester.
Website: The design of your
website is optional and should be based on your experience, or the
experience of your web editor. Make sure to include a homepage,
submission guidelines, and bios of your editorial board. You should
also add links to your social media pages. The rest is up to you, but
make sure that you take this freedom seriously. Your website should
demonstrate an appropriate amount of investment.
You will include snap shots of the website in your final report and
your
exhibit at the end of the semester.
Tips:
You will notice that I've added links to the schedule with websites
that display excellent web fonts and color palettes. It is likely
that
you cannot use these particular fonts or colors since your website is
dependent on the web-builder you use. However, you should read through
the descriptions of why these fonts and colors work. Even though you
may not have access to Open Sans, it might lead you to
something similar like Arial or Helvetica.
Note to the Copy Editor: Please keep
in mind that part of your group's final grade is based on the
congruence of your journal which includes the design of your website.
Therefore, you should lend an eye in
the development and overall editing of this assignment.
