Devil's Advocate

Starring Al Pacino, Keanu Reeves, Charlize Theron, Judith Ivey.

Plot: Reeves, a talented young attorney, gets offered the chance of a lifetime--a coveted position at a prestigious New York law firm, owned by the powerful Pacino. Reeves and his wife, Theron, jump at the opportunity and relocate to "the dwelling place of demons." Soon after arriving, Theron realizes that they've been drawn into something evil, with the diabolical Pacino at the helm. The couple discovers that Pacino is Satan, and he's Reeves' dad. Will Reeves claim his birthright at the expense of his soul?

Dialogue: It's well-written and contains much social commentary. The intelligent, well-delivered script enhances the film.

Monster Type: Satan and his minions.

Gore Factor: Aside from mild demon morphing and one suicide scene, the film is pretty tame.

Scariness/Suspense: A sense of impending doom heightens the scare factor and plot twists create suspense.

Target Audience: A relatively intelligent audience that will appreciate the subtle social commentary.
