Washington Beta Wins W.S.U. Awards

The Washington Beta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon proudly received two major awards at the Greek Awards Banquet on March 30th, 1997. The awards received were the "Outstanding Chapter Spirit Award" and the all- important "Outstanding Pledge Program Award."

The Outstanding Spirit Award is the highest honor bestowed by Washington State University as it recognizes the chapter which has demonstrated repeatedly to be a strong force in W.S.U. and the community, participation on campus, academics, pledge programming, and most importantly, brotherhood.

The Outstanding Pledge Program Award recognizes the fraternity that best exemplifies the university's ideals of pledgeship while encouraging individual growth within each pledge. This award will find itself often admired during next Summer's Rush, as it can be a great example of the effectiveness of our pledge program to prospective rushees.

The men of Washington Beta are proud to receive these two awards, but realize that local recognition is only half of our goal as a chapter. Washington Beta is a contender for several national Sigma Alpha Epsilon awards, including the prestigious John O. Mosely Award for Fraternity Zeal and the Chapter Achievement Award. Washington Beta is a past winner of the latter, winning the Achievement Award four times in six years. We would like to start a new string of awards, and realize that to win future awards, we need to maintain the high standards of fraternity life that we have been adhering to.
