Modern horror not only transcends
the use of traditional "monsters"--it also incorporates
elements of other movie genres such as comedy, drama, sci-fi,
and fantasy. We wanted to examine the evolution of horror movies
in the '80s and '90s, so we chose five films that we feel best
represent this phenomenon.
