Subject: query - edith wharton childhood

What is a good biography of EW that would be likely to have information
about an experience in E's girlhood.  The incident involved riding in
the family carriage and being stopped and pulled from the carriage by
poor people. Thank you.

Subject:      Bibliographies of Wharton novels for Wharton Society page

I would like to post a bibliography at the Wharton
Society site that would give visitors a sense of what books might be
most helpful in approaching the study of Wharton and her works. What works on
Edith Wharton or what works on specific novels would listmembers
especially recommend?

Since some members may not be interested in this question, private replies
may be best.  I'll compile the list and send it to WHARTON-L for
additions, suggestions, and corrections before posting it to the site.

Many thanks in advance for your help,

 Donna Campbell
