collaborative repurposing project

OVERVIEW

This will be your final project of the semester. It involves repurposing research you have conducted and written about in previous classes or research experiences, revising that research for a different audience, producing a brief research report, and a final repurposed product. The repurposed project may take the form of a website, a brochure, a flyer, a tutorial designed to teach a specific audience about your topic, a process guide for implementing your research, a public service announcement or other video, or various other formats.

This Repurposing Project involves composing and delivering the following products:

1) the Pitch Proposal (all information about this part of the project is found by linking; (15% of grade)
2) a Brief Research Report and Repurposed Product (due June 16 and 17; 15% of grade)
3) a Formal Oral Presentation (presented either June 16 or 17; 8 % of grade)
4) one Progress Memo (due June 14) and one Completion Memo (due June 17; 15% of grade)

The Pitch Proposal is individual. The rest of the project will be completed by a team of two or three people. You will collaborate on all aspects of the project. Teams should be composed of people with differing strengths and interests so that all aspects of the project are supported.

In addition to the work you will need to complete outside of class, you will have some in-class worshopping time. Following the June 10 memo workshop, each team member will compose an individual progress memo which will be sent to Dr. Ericsson (ericsson@wsu.edu). We will discuss memo writing in class on June 10.

WRITTEN REPORT

All details of the Brief Research Report will be presented and discussed on June 9.

ORAL PRESENTATION

This project will involve a formal oral presentation in which your team will present the results of your project.  These presentations will take place on June 16 and 17. Each team member must have a speaking role and these roles should be as equal as possible. Details on the oral presentation will be discussed in class on June 13.

PROGRESS and COMPLETION MEMOS

Progress memo writing will be discussed in class on June 10. The Progress Memo will be due on June 14; the Completion Memo on June 17.
