Pullman,
Washington
Not everyone likes to travel far out of their way, so if you don't
like spending on gas this 'trip' is for you!
Pullman may
seem like a small town but it is full of things to do. This day trip is
designed for a person on a budget planning to stay relatively close to
WSU.
Before
you go:
Whenever I travel I like to be well prepared for what I am doing. Pullman
weather is always a grab bag; it may snow on Monday and be clear and 70
on Friday. For Pullman weather visit here.
Weather gives a good indication of what to wear, but dont forget,
you're in cougar country! Wearing cougar colors, crimson and gray is likely
the best choice. Do not tour wearing purple and gold, or husky merchandise.
What to
Eat:
If you are anything like I am, you also like to know where the best
things to eat are. Many students choose the Daily Grind, visit mapquest
for directions to their Main Street location.
for coffee, live music, and to study. The atmosphere is laid back, and
the coffee is delicious, I highly recommend the Vanilla and Peanut Butter
Freeze. There are many Pullman restaurants but for the truly cheap student
they are out of reach, and a day like this is perfect for a picnic of
sandwiches and Ho Hos.
Time to
Travel:
Here in Pullman there are many movie theatres at a great rate, matinees
run for as little as $2.00. To see what is playing and when visit here.
A great thing
to do while the weather is nice is to go cliff jumping into the Snake
River at Granite Point Wawawai. For directions check this
out.
Depending
on the season, attending WSU sports is a great way to spend a day! Most
WSU students buy sports passes at the beginning of the year and they are
now available online, so for tickets go here.
Travel onto
WSU campus to tie up your day, the perfect evening ends at Ferdinands
for ice cream and free cheese samples, and then off to the Observatory
to see the stars on those clear nights that are so common here.
