PULLMAN AREA PARKS

Sunnyside Park
sborder Sunnyside Park's boundaries are visually defined here and clearly separate two different uses of the natural. Bordering wheat fields, as almost anything in Pullman does, the park encompasses recreational natural and social experiences bordering the commodification of nature.
sborder2 "Boundaries are important, because they limit the meanings parks are allowed in the culture. They establish the privileged status of nature reserves by restricting access to them and physically separating them from other land uses" (Wilson, The Culture of Nature).
spath4 "NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES BEYOND THIS POINT"

pond2 "NO DOGS ALLOWED IN LAKE NO BOATING - NO SWIMMING"

Rules and Borders are cultural elements that help to define and contain the "nature experience."
