Indranil Chowdhury, Ph.D.
Welcome to Indranil Chowdhury's research group. Dr. Chowdhury is an assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Washington State University. His research focuses on environmental applications and implications of nanotechnology in the context of water infrastrucure, food-energy-water nexus, and climate change. We look at the fate, transport, and removal of emerging contaminants in water, soil, and sediment as well as water quality and treatment, nanoscale surface interactions, and stormwater management.
Dr. Chowdhury received his B.S. in Civil Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 2006. He went on to earn an M.S. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University (2008) and a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering (2012) from the University of California, Riverside. Before joining WSU, Dr. Chowdhury was a postdoctoral research scholar at the USEPA ORD National Exposure Laboratory (NERL) in Athens, GA.
