Captivating, Expressive, Effective

A significant amount of my participation in both clubs and courses at WSU consisted of using digital technologies: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Through use of these programs, I succeeded in melding creativity and usability into documents that communicate my drive to not only express my ideas, but to put them to use as being part of something bigger than myself.

Jack's Mannequin Poster

I designed and created this poster in a fine arts course: Introduction to Digital Media. I combined imagery commonly associated with the band Jack's Mannequin with my own impressions of their music to create a visual narrative open to audience interpretation.

V-Day WSU Flyers

As the Vice-President of V-Day WSU, a philanthropic organization pioneering against gender violence, I often design the flyers and advertising for our many events and fundraisers.

Fair Trade Coffee Re-Purposing Project

In a Professional and Technical writing class, I proposed my idea for an assignment that aimed to repurpose some body of knowledge into a new format and somehow effect change through this repurposing. I proposed designing a line of posters and coffee lid decals that promoted the purchase of Fair Trade coffee and educated consumers about the power they weild when buying certain products. Two other students decided to join my team, and together we created the following pieces.

Original Project Proposal

Enhanced Color Photography

For this project, I took a series of photographs and from them, selected three that related to one another in both color scheme and subject matter. I then altered and intensified the color in the photos, almost to an unbelievable or surreal level, to emphasize the connections between the pieces.
